Sun and Summer

I planned to post this poem yesterday, as it was the Summer Solstice, but alas, life has a way of making sure I'm busy.  You know, so many people to blame, and not enough time to name them all, (minions) what, did I say that out loud!
So here it is, my ode to the first day of summer.

Raising my face to its nascent light, I cry for its season.
I hunger to lay under its spell. ~ My body glows by its flame.
I need its heat to warm my soul. ~ I’m motionless in its passion.
Under sun-drenched skies, its flame touches my skin. ~ My skin glistens from its kiss.
Sated I drown.
