Urban Fantasy ~ Summer Release

I celebrated the first day of Spring with a completed novel and rain. As much as I love sunshine, (perfect weather for writing outside) I guess the desert needs the water. Sooo....the completed novel, so exciting! Bone Chimes should see the world late Summer. You know- if everything goes as planned, and we all know how smoothly things go when they're planned. I'm keeping my fingers crossed :)
This year has already been busy, and doesn't show signs of slowing. With several projects in the works, and trips planned, it makes the days short and time shorter. I know I'll be saying 'Where did the year go?' a lot.
Oh those road trips- since I find travel and photography incredible inspirations for my writing, I try to visit new places... like Amboy, Ca (old route 66) and Death Valley, Ca, and old places like Lone Pine, Ca (movie museum- has props from the movie Tremors :)) OK, OK... and anywhere along the highway 395 heading north.
Where will I end up-  the mountains of Northern California- (might be bias, I'm from there) where I'll lose myself as I jot down names, places, people, and a dozen other little details. Besides the gems that will end up in a story or two for your reading pleasure, I'll be busy taking photographs. Love pictures!

Oh look- This is going to surprise everyone- I just returned from a trip from those mountains and I have pictures! I know, so not like me.

I absolutely believe inspiration can be found anywhere.

One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.

Keep close to Nature’s heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. ~ John Muir ~

Passion is a sort of fever in the mind, which ever leaves us weaker than it found us.

Bones, muscle tissue, and hair hung from various places, as if they had been stuck into whatever crevices would hold them. Her stomach heaved with the sight while her skin grew cold with fear.
"You noticed our advent calendar." Flint boasted. He walked to its side and stared at the carved face. "They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. If I were to look at you, what would I see in your soul?"
